Overture a powerful financial engine, study says

Despite it's financial trouble, Overture Center has been an audiance magnet, generating more than a thousand jobs and millions of dollars in spending while helping boost property values and spur Downtown redevelopment, according to a new study commissioned by the arts venue.

Overture drew more than 541,000 people in 2008 and spending by Overture, it's resident companies and audiences exceeded $37.4 million last year, the study by AMS Planning and Reasearch says.  More
